Quant Developer

 

Context

 

The Talan consultant, who would be hired as a full time employee of Talan, would be assisting one of our client on their ongoing projects.

We are looking for a talented and experienced Quant Developer with a credit knowledge for one of our multinational Investment Banking Clients in New York.

 

Responsibilities

 

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.  

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
  • Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.
  • Acquires and applies expert knowledge of the business, its products, and processes.
  • Directs analyses, root cause identification, and development and recommendation of key work products to mitigate associated risk or leverage potential business advantages.
  • Accountable for achieving business objectives and results; provides guidance to cross-functional team members to ensure goal achievement and team success.
  • Recognizes and leads the development and implementation of appropriate credit risk strategies.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for product segmentation and credit loss activities.
  • Develops detailed analysis, utilizing sophisticated analytical and financial modeling and statistical techniques to predict, evaluate and manage the credit risk across various loan portfolios according to operational risk and compliance standards.
  • Assesses lending product/portfolio performance specific to credit loss and financial elements.
  • Engages with bank leaders to ensure that credit risk policies are aligned with the continually changing credit environment and maintains dialogue with other stakeholders such as Risk and Compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of regulatory environment and ensures compliance. Manages risk issues and provides strategies for mitigation to minimize business impact.
  •  Provides coaching and guidance to less experienced team member while ensuring alignment to the organizational strategy.

 

Required Qualifications

 

Technical Skill Set:

 

  • Proven success in developing and communicating strategy and translating that strategy into tactics
  • Experience in Credit
  • Experience with C++, Python and/or other programming tools
  • Relevant finance, product and/or P&L experience

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required
  • 3 to 6 years in the financial services industry
  • Team oriented
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Analytical and Organizational skills
  •  Rigor & Accuracy
