About the French-American Chamber of Commerce Foundation

Founded in 2012, the French-American Chamber of Commerce (FACC) Foundation is a wholly-owned 501(C)(3) non-profit subsidiary of the French-American Chamber of Commerce in the United States, Inc. - New York Chapter (FACC-NY), a bi-national, independent association devoted to the development of economic, commercial and financial relations between the U.S. and France.

The mission of the FACC Foundation is to sponsor the training and education of the next generation of transatlantic business leaders. Through its highly selective Serge Bellanger French-American Business Scholarship Program, the FACC Foundation provides financial support to French students pursuing MBA studies in the U.S., and to American students who wish to pursue an MBA or masters degree in a business-related discipline in France. As of September 2016, the FACC Foundation distributed $360,000 in scholarships to 36 deserving young people.

Each year, the FACC Foundation has received a growing number of candidates coming from or going to prestigious universities in France and the United States, including HEC Paris, ESSEC, Paris Dauphine, INSEAD, Audencia and EM Grenoble in France, as well as Harvard, MIT, Yale, Columbia, Stanford, University of Pennsylvania, University of Chicago, Northwestern and others in the United States.

Job Description

The Fundraising Consultants mission will be to develop and oversee the FACC Foundation's fundraising activities, including outreach to foundations, potential corporate and individual donors both directly and through their representatives, estates, and professional consultants; develop FACC Foundation endowment and roll out communications strategy to assist in its funding; and maintain strong relationships with FACC Foundation financial contributors and supporters.

Skills and experience

The Consultant role is a part-time, contractual position requiring the following skills and experience:

- Strategic thinking;
- Considerable, proven effective fundraising in a non-profit organization;
- Superior written and oral communication skills; ability to convey ideas clearly and concisely;
- Relationships with potential donors and ability to develop new ones
- Knowledge of educational institutions, educational scholarships, French business educational issues and experience in French-American business, education, culture, and social circles helpful.

This person will be an energetic self-starter, who is hardworking, autonomous, proactive, organized, professional, structured, detail-oriented and fully bilingual in written and spoken French and English. Familiarity with the French and American higher education systems is important.

The person should hold at least a Bachelors degree in a related field.

Reporting, internal relations and compensation

The Development consultant reports to the FACC Foundation President and Board of Directors (comprised of four members including the President), and will work closely with the French-American Chamber of Commerce Foundation Program Management consultant and FACC New York staff to assure a coordinated approach to their constituents.

Compensation for this role is commensurate with experience and will be determined by the FACC Foundation Board of Directors.
