Events & Communications Intern

 

The French-American Chamber of Commerce, New York Chapter, is looking to hire an Events & Communications Intern for four months to assist with various projects.

 

About the French-American Chamber of Commerce
The French-American Chamber of Commerce provides the connections, opportunities, experiences and understanding that empower successful business relationships between members.  It leverages networks to help nurture relationships between French and American professionals and propel individuals, companies and their sectors to greater success.

 

To fulfill this mission, the FACC produces a wide variety of events, including panels, roundtable discussions, featured speakers and social, business networking opportunities.  The Chambers online platform allows for easy connections among members that wish to develop synergies.

 

The FACC New York is the largest of a 20-chapter national network present in all major metropolitan U.S. cities and integrating nearly 5,000 members. 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Actively track FACC competitors and identify trending topics, identify potential panelists for FACC events within our key sectors as well as relevant events best practices ,

  • Identify, qualify & set appointments with prospective financial sponsors, food & beverage partners and venues; enter qualified contacts into the FACCs CRM system,

  • Assist with the FACC Foundation Gala logistics and deliveries,

  • Contact and Database Management identify duplicate entries, invalid contacts and other data to be cleaned from the FACCs CRM system.

  • Provide photo & video support, contribute to social media coverage at FACC events

  • Secure Meet the Member features - organize outreach lists & follow up as necessary

  • Format graphics for use by the Communications & Event departments

  • Identify Corporate Communications contacts in FACC Corporate member firms and schedule meetings with them.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual French/English - can be native of either language. Must master English to full professional proficiency with good grasp of both written and oral French.

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Experience in event management beneficial, not mandatory

  • Proficient with tech: Microsoft office suite. Experience with any CRM beneficial.

  • Organized, proactive, motivated

  • Ability to collaborate with C-suite executives

  • Ability to work in fast paced environment, on short deadlines

  • Graphic design basics welcome

 

 

Time and duration:

  • 35 hours/ week- normal business hours are 9 AM- 5 PM.  Hours may be adapted based on event schedule.

  • 16 weeks, starting in mid-June 2019.

Compensation:

  • $15 per hour
