About the French-American Chamber of Commerce:

The French-American Chamber of Commerce (FACC) is a private, non-profit 501(c)6 organization. It is the country's premier organization for French-American business, providing members access to educational corporate events, high-level speakers, and exceptional networking opportunities. The Chamber offers international training opportunities for young people, trade services, member-to-member discounts, and an online directory of members across the United States. The FACC leverages eight sector, demographic and functional member Committees to identify programs that respond to the specific expectations of each group.

The French-American Chamber of Commerce Foundation, a New York State-registered 501(C)3 subsidiary of the FACC, offers scholarships opportunities to Americans pursuing graduate business degrees (MBAs) in France and French students pursuing similar degree programs in the United States.

                                                Job Description

The FACC is hiring a full-time Events and Communications Associate to support its:

- Events Manager 
- Senior Associate Communications

In 2019, the FACC produced some 50 events, including the annual FACC Foundation Gala. The purpose of the FACCs events and communications is to engage members and drive recruitment and retention.



Main responsibility as regards events is to support Events Manager. Detailed responsibilities include:

1 - Event logistics

  • Proactively enrich and maintain a database of event facilities, such as member office spaces, boutiques, hotels and restaurants. Identify capacity limits, contact names and associated costs.
  • Investigate and secure venue administrative requirements, such as COI, licenses, delivery time/location. Collect them from exhibitors, caterers, bartenders, audiovisual providers and others.
  • Determine F&B quantities; assure pick-up and delivery, set up and break-down.
  • Walk through space, test audiovisual and support a seamless run of show.
  • Support attendee registration, name badge and attendance list generation, as required.

2-Speakers / Exhibitors

  • Pro-actively collect speaker contact information for each event.
  • Schedule event preparation calls between speakers/panelists and the FACC Events Manager.
  • Assure speakers are registered in Civi and that gifts are provided to them after events.

3- Sponsors development and long-term relationship

  • Develop and maintain a list of prospective sponsors by key sector category based on historical contributors and those sponsoring comparable non-FACC events.
  • Create pitch materials describing the FACCs value proposition at various sponsorship levels.
  • Assure delivery of sponsor benefits (visibility, complimentary entries, email blasts, etc.).


  • Research and document topics that are pertinent to the FACCs Committees, either by way of news items or non-FACC events taking place around the world.
  • Provide quarterly updates to the Events Manager for reference during Committee meetings.


Main responsibility as regards communications is to support the Senior Associate, Communications. Detailed responsibilities include:

  • Secure communications materials from speakers, sponsors and exhibitors for inclusion on the FACC website, social media and email blasts., including speaker headshots, bios and company logos.
  • After events, liaise with partners to confirm their visibility and log as engagement in the CRM.
  • Send photos to financial and F&B sponsors, as well as other event partners.
  • Create event landing pages and invitations; schedule email blasts and update social media outlets, as required.
  • Develop content such as member features and new member profiles for the FACC Newsletter.
  • Database management - run period checks on the FACC list of contacts to review bounce emails and update contact entries
  • Centralize and complete basic website update requests - upload and link new or edited documents for ICDP, update staff contact information, publish a new member benefits offer.
  • Identify corporate communications contacts, schedule meetings, track outreach progress.


The candidate must speak and write fluent English and French, hold a Bachelors degree and have considerable events planning / fundraising / marketing / communications / PR experience. Experience in international business and not-for-profit associations is welcome, as is a strong familiarity with New Yorks French-American business community.

This person will be a team player who will be involved in all aspects of the FACCs activities and contribute his/her individual know-how to the events and communications areas directly.

This position reports equally to the Events Manager and Senior Associate Communications and collaborates closely with all other team members. Salary is commensurate with experience and skills. Benefits include PTO, health, dental and group life insurance and a 401-K plan.
